CoSound Special Session: Interacting with Audio
Synopsis: Interaction principles and methods are key ingredients in audio and music organization. To enable users to understand, organize, analyze, experience there is a need for integrated frameworks which ideally combine content and context of audio objects, as well as users' context, demographics, usage activity, and content markups such tags or scores. The objective of the special session is to discuss and promote modeling, retrieval and interfacing trends in the field.

Keywords: Multi-modal analysis, user-driven, cognitive processing, interaction, personalization, semantic audio, collaborative filtering, multi-task, cross-mining, data and information fusion, audio management and retrieval, crowdsourcing.

Organizers: Jan Larsen and Bjørn Sand Jensen, DTU Compute, Technical University of Denmark.

Support: The special session is supported in part by the Danish Council for Strategic Research of the Danish Agency for Science Technology and Innovation under the CoSound project, case number 11-115328.

Special Session: Advances in EEG Modeling
Synopsis: EEG is gaining momentum in several fields as low cost, mobile solutions appear; however, modeling and extraction of useful information from EEG is still very much in its infancy. We solicit contributions on:
  • Mobile EEG,
  • New paradigms for use of EEG,
  • Neurofeedback,
  • Quantified Self,
  • Precision medicine,
  • Multi-modal integration involving EEG,
  • EEG device design,
  • Cognitive systems based on EEG.

Organizers: Lars Kai Hansen, DTU Compute, Technical University of Denmark, Preben Kidmose, Department of Engineering, Aarhus University.

Support: The special session is supported in part by the Danish Council for Strategic Research of the Danish Agency for Science Technology and Innovation under the Neuro24/7 project, and by the Lundbeck Foundation through the Center for Integrated Molecular Brain Imaging (CIMBI).
